About SEED & TROWEL
Hello there flower friends! I am Haley Winters, the main dreamer, planner, snipper of blooms, and floral designer here at Seed & Trowel Flowers, which is family flower farm in rural Lexington, Oregon. I am totally smitten by flowers. Once upon a time I was a school teacher, but my focus changed to growing and caring for my family. As I began my time at home as a stay at mom, homemaker and homeschooler I began to add more flowers to our veggie patch. The the size of our patch grew too. I was able to give flowers as gifts and even host friends for a U-Pick style event. It was at one of these events in 2020 that a friend suggested I grow flowers as a business. A seed was planted in my flower-loving mind and the seed continues to grow. Gardening and growing flowers had always been a huge interest of mine, so it felt natural to invest energy into doing something that brought me JOY and to share that JOY with others.
My goal is to SUBDUE the little piece of earth that I have and make it productive. The 2021 growing season marked our first year of serving up FLORAL JOY to our community through bouquet subscriptions and markets. We are striving to provide locally gown blooms that are beautiful and affordable. |
Seed & Trowel is a family operation where everybody helps out in their own way. The list of what my husband, Josh, does is so darn long! He is the main muscle behind projects like our irrigation (I would still be running around with 14 different hoses if it wasn't for him), constructing raised beds, building garden gates, making low tunnel frames etc. This place runs with so much more efficiency because of his knowledge and hard work.
We have four young kids and they are BIG helpers with planting seeds, digging in the dirt, snipping flowers, and being my market assistants! |
